Female student for 2 years convinces her parents to let her study abroad
Being opposed to studying abroad, May learned to live independently and persistently persuaded her parents for two years.
Graduating from a language school in Japan, Nguyen Thi Kieu May, 21 years old, is currently a freshman in Human Resource Management, Tokyo International University, Saitama City, a suburb of Tokyo. May received a scholarship of 30% of tuition fees after the university entrance exam for international students. During her three years in Japan, the female student knew how to arrange her life, have a stable part-time job, and maintain good academic results.
Before going to Japan to study on her own, May spent two years trying to change herself, learning how to be independent to convince her parents.

The dream of studying abroad was rekindled in a Hai Duong girl from the 10th grade, after a close friend in the group went to Australia to study. Wishing to go out into the world to experience and study, May asked her parents for permission to study abroad and was opposed, fearing that her daughter would be alone away from her family, and might face financial difficulties due to studying abroad on her own. . The girl started planning to prove to her family that she was independent enough and confident enough to study abroad.
May said, from a spoiled girl who can't cook and do housework, she is determined to change. Every morning, May gets up early to prepare food for the family, cleans the house and actively arranges personal affairs.
I also researched information and selected a country to study abroad, based on the financial situation of my family. May determined to study in Japan or Korea because of the appropriate tuition fee, about 400 million VND a year, including tuition and living expenses. In four years of university, May will spend about 1.6 billion dong, while if she goes to the US, she will lose 3-4 times that amount. I also love the culture and admire the high work ethic and discipline.
After 3-4 months, when her parents got used to her daughter's change, May reiterated her desire to study abroad.
"At this time, my parents did not react as violently as at first, but were calm and thoughtful. My parents realized that I was serious in my intentions and really wanted to study abroad," said May.
Since then, May's parents were more interested in studying abroad, and began to seek information and ask about the experiences of many people. Knowing that her parents would have questions and concerns about her study path, major and future after graduation, May went online to find out and asked her relatives studying at university in Hanoi for help.
The female student clearly presented her learning goals and future orientation to her parents. I also told my family that the study process in Japan will last 6 years, including 2 years of language study and 4 years of university.
At the end of the language study period, I will take the university entrance exam for international students, including subjects such as Japanese, math and social engineering. At a high school in Vietnam, May won a consolation prize in the national English competition for excellent students. With that ability, May believes that she will pass a university in Japan.
"If you confirm that you will pass an A-class school in Japan after studying the language, your parents will think you are subjective and wishful thinking. Instead, convince by: After two years, your Japanese level will progress and be able to pass good universities or higher, if lucky, can get grade A," shared May.
Cloud also considers the financial industry with human resources and finally chooses personnel. She explained to her parents that economic or financial industries in the future will have less demand for human resources due to AI-supported work. Meanwhile, human resources is a major that helps me know how to communicate with people and has a lot of job potential.
"According to information on the website of Tokyo International University, 98% of graduates get jobs. The salary of human resources staff with university degrees is about 50-60 million VND a month. Listen to me, my parents. No more worrying about career problems," May said.
The first-year female student said that, in addition to a clear explanation and specific plan, she chose to tell positive stories about Japan to help her parents reduce anxiety and increase a sense of security. After two years of persistently applying the "long-lasting rain" tactic, Cloud finally received the consent of his family. One day, parents called May to chat for an hour, before allowing her to go to school.
