Stanford University in the US leads the ranking of the best educational institutions, made by THE.
In the 2022 ranking, Times Higher Education (THE) evaluates schools based on performance related to the education industry, teacher training and academic research.
Like rankings in other industry groups, THE calculates scores based on 13 separate indicators, divided into 5 groups with different weights. In which, the group of criteria on teaching (learning environment) has a weight of 32.7%; research (volume, income, reputation) 29.8%; scientific citations (research influence) 27.5%; international outlook (of staff, students and research) 7.5% and industry earnings (knowledge transfer) 2.5%.
By these criteria, the US occupies the top three positions. In addition to Stanford University at the top with an assessment score of 93.7 out of 100, the other two schools are the University of California at Berkeley - UC Berkeley (90.6 points) and Harvard University (89.8 points). In addition, the US has Vanderbilt University ranked 9th with 81.6 points and two schools in 10th place, the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor and the University of Pennsylvania with the same 80.7 points.

Three Asian universities entered the top 10, including the University of Hong Kong (Hong Kong), Tsinghua University (China) tied for 6th place with 88.1 points and Peking University (China) at 8th place with 86.8 points. . In which, Peking University last year ranked 11th, this year jumped 3 places, into the top 10.
The remaining two schools in the top 10 are the oldest and most prestigious names in the UK, including the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge, ranked 4th and 5th respectively with 88.8 and 88.5 points.

This year, 597 schools appear in THE's university rankings in the field of education, an increase of 60 schools compared to last year. Vietnam has no schools participating in this field.
THE World University Rankings is a poll of colleges and universities globally by Times Higher Education (UK). Together with the Shanghai Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) and Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), THE is considered one of the world's leading prestigious university rankings.
THE started implementing THE-QS World University Rankings in 2004, in cooperation with QS. Since 2010, THE ceased to cooperate with QS and created a new university ranking, in partnership with data provider Thomson Reuters.
